- Reference No:
- C DPD/1/3/5/1/48
- Dates:
- 25 Jan 1911-28 Dec 1912
- Description:
- The file consists of correspondence between the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield) and W. M. Stickney and Sons (Land Agent and Valuer) of Hull regarding remedial works and protective works for the bank and groynes at Broomfleet Island. Some of this remedial work involved the purchase, by the Conservancy, of four old lighters, which were filled with chalk and then scuttled. Numerous cargoes of chalk were purchased and delivered to Broomfleet Island as part of the Remedial work. The file includes a plan which illustrates the remedial works to be carried out on the bank.
