The file consists of correspondence between the Engineer (Arthur Ernest Butterfield) and the Chief Collector (Arthur Riches) to the Humber Conservancy Board. The subject matter is the terms and conditions of employees of the Board. This includes details concerning wages, sick leave, dates of engagement, and termination of employment. The file includes lists which provide Information about the Board's floating staff: details of accidents, illnesses, and replacement crew.
Also included in the file is correspondence regarding expenses incurred by the Board in connection with damage inflicted on the Board's floating property (buoys, gas floats, etc) as a result of collisions with shipping.
