The subject matter is the maintenance of the Middle Sand Lightship. It includes reports of accidents and illness among the crew, along with returns of the following forms: Form A 'Stores in Stock', Form B 'Articles Required', and Form C 'Stores Received'. It also includes monthly postcards submitted to the Engineer by the ship's mate reporting on paraffin consumption and stocks.
