A subject file created by the Engineer's Office of the Humber Conservancy Board.
A general file which mainly consists of correspondence between the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield) and manufactures and suppliers of lantern, beacon and buoy lighting equipment. This includes discussions over difficulties in obtaining equipment and materials as a result of the First World War (1914-1918).
Also included in the file is correspondence with Mr Plant of the firm S. C. and P. Harding Limited, and a Mr. Kirk, on the matter of wartime conditions.
