- The file consists of correspondence between the Engineer to the Humber Conservancy Board (Arthur Ernest Butterfield), and various owners of jetties on the Humber. The subject matter is the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of jetties (and in some case the removal of old jetties). Specifically, this includes reports in July 1920 of unauthorised and dilapidated works on the foreshore between New Holland and Chalder Ness , a report dated March 1920 regarding Mr Fred Hopper’s outfall and jetty at Barton (constructed without the Board's prior permission). The file also includes correspondence with G. and T. Earle Limited concerning their Jetty at Barton.
