It includes monthly lists of petrol and paraffin consumed by the Board's vessels whilst working on the Upper Humber, and monthly lists recording inspections of lighthouses on the Upper Humber. Some of the subject matters covered by the file include landing and wharfage dues, staff issues, shallow water in the navigable channels, and the groundings of the 'Faxfleet' and 'Mersey' near the Upper Whitton Light Vessel.
