Description:

A package containing papers accumulated in connection with Aire and Calder Navigation Lease No. 9E: Nos. 3–9 Ouse Street (Odd Numbers), Goole, Yorkshire. It includes the following:

Deeds (1829–1877)

1. Lease for 99 years (5 December 1829): Sir John Lowther and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Adam Smith. It includes an inset plan of the property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, Richard Fountayne Wilson, and John Spencer Stanhope.

2. Assignment of Leasehold (23 September 1874): George Hewson (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to George Ball. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

3. Surrender of Leasehold (31 July 1877): George Ball to Andrew Montagu and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the Leasee, William Padley, and Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Lease for 99 years (1 August 1877): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Bell. The Lease incorporates both Lease No. 6 and Lease No. 9E. It includes a plan showing the property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the Leasee.
