Description:

Two packages containing papers accumulated in connection with Aire and Calder Navigation Lease No. 17: No. 3 North Street and adjoining land in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. It includes the following:

Deeds (1834–1883)

1. Lease for 99 years (4 August 1834): The Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Fletcher. It includes an inset plan showing the land in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir John Lowther, Richard Fountayne Wilson, Sir William Mordaunt Milner, and John Spencer Stanhope.

2. Counterpart of a Lease for 99 years (4 August 1834): The Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Fletcher. It includes an inset plan showing the land in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Mortgage by way of underlease (25 January 1858): George Fletcher (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Mary Ann Priestley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Assignment of Leasehold (3 April 1861): George Fletcher and Mary Ann Priestley (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to George Greenfield. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Mortgage by way of underlease (4 April 1861) for securing £200: George Greenfield (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Emerson. The Deed has been sealed and signed by Mr Greenfield, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

6. Release of Leasehold (17 November 1873): William Smith Garlick and John Foulstone (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to George Greenfield. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

7. Surrender of Leasehold (4 May 1883): George Greenfield to Andrew Montagu and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and Francis Darwin on behalf of the Navigation.
