A package containing papers accumulated in connection with Aire and Calder Navigation Lease No. 25: land located at the junction of Aire Street and Murham Lane (later North Street) in the town of Goole. It also contains material related to Goole Lease No. 4A (Sydney Hotel) and No. 23 (Steam Packet Inn) It includes the following:
Deeds (1835–1892)
1. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (3 August 1835): The Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Simon Hamer. It has been sealed and signed by the aforementioned Leasee.
2. Surrender of Lease (31 December 1884): George William Carter to Andrew Montagu and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. Surrender of Goole Leases 4A, 23, and 25. It has been signed and sealed by William Aldam and Francis Darwin on behalf of the Navigation.
3. Draft Confirmation of Assignment of Leasehold (1892): George William Carter and John Charles Hawey (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Carters Knottingley Brewery Company Limited.
