A package (divided into 3 folders) containing papers accumulated in connection with Aire and Calder Navigation Lease No. 31: The Peacock Hotel situate on East Parade in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. It includes the following:

Deeds (1838–1887)

1. Lease for 99 years (6 August 1838): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to William Airton. It includes an inset map showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir John Lowther, Sir William Mordaunt Milner, Richard Fountayne Wilson, and John Spencer Stanhope.

2. Assignment of Leasehold and Mortgage (30 June 1861): the Trustees of the York City and County Banking Company and others (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to William Henry Airton. The Deed has been signed and sealed by Edwin Plumber Price, Hall Rokeby Price, Clement Uvedale Price, James Meek, Robert Williamson, Edward Smallwood, Thomas Wilson, William Henry Airton, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

AND by endorsement—Re-assignment of Leasehold (5 November 1867): Edward Smallwood and Thomas Wilson (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to William Henry Airton. The endorsement has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, James Meek, David Hill, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (5 October 1876): William Henry Airton (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Richard Peacock. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, William Cass, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Surrender of Leasehold (31 August 1887): Richard Peacock to Andrew Montagu and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and William Aldam on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Draft Lease for 99 years (1 September 1887): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Richard Peacock.
