Description:

A package (divided into two folders) containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 10 September 1900 by John Luddington's Trustees. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (Nos. 49 and 132) situate in Bridge Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

[Part 1]

Deeds (1841–1900):

1. Lease No. 49 for 99 years (2 August 1841): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Luddington. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, Richard Fountayne Wilson, and Sir John Lowther.

2. Mortgage of Leasehold No. 49 (2 March 1842): John Luddington to Messrs Gaggs Carter and Company.The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, John Carter, Grace Gaggs, John Carter, Elizabeth Carter and William Carter.

3. Reassignment of Leasehold (3 February 1849): Messrs William Carter (Trustee) and others (Mortgagees) to John Luddington. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, John Carter, Grace Gaggs, Elizabeth Carter, and William Carter.

4. Lease No. 132 (9 May 1867): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Luddington. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, Andrew Montagu, and William Aldam.

5. Counterpart of Lease No. 132 (9 May 1867): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Luddington. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

6. Surrender of Leasehold (10 September 1900): the Executors and Trustees of the late John Luddington to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. It includes a plan of the Leasehold. The Deed has been signed and sealed by Jane Jessop and John Luddington.
