Description:

A package (divided into two folders) containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 1 July 1901 by Ann English. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 71) situate in Doyle Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

[Part 1]

Deeds (1850–1901):

1. Lease for 99 years (5 August 1850): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Messrs Thomas Day and Richard Day. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Thomas Day, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer William Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (5 August 1850): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Messrs Thomas Day and Richard Day. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasees.

3. Mortgage of Leasehold (6 July 1853): Messrs Thomas Day and Richard Day (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Duckels. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and John Drinkrow Hall on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Assignment of Equity of Redemption in Leasehold (12 July 1860): the Assignees of the Estate and Effects of Messrs Thomas Day and Richard Day to Thomas Duckels. The Deed has been signed and sealed by George Young, William Robinson King, William Cass, Thomas Day, Richard Day, and Thomas Duckels.

5. Reassignment of Leasehold (2 February 1878): Jemima Mitchelson, William Hendall, John Richard Wardell, and Robert Peel Clarkson (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Ann English and William English. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

6. Surrender of Leasehold (1 July 1901): Ann English, William Billington, and Henry Wilson to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasees.
