Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 23 June 1902 by William Rowbotham. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (Nos. 55 and 63) situate in Vermuyden Terrace in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1841–1902):

1. Lease for 99 years (2 August 1841): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Rowbotham. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, Richard Fountayne Wilson, and Sir John Lowther.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (2 August 1841): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Rowbotham. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Mortgage of Leasehold (15 December 1845): John Rowbotham to Joseph Boyes. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties.

4. Reassignment of Leasehold (29 February 1848): Joseph Boyes (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to John Rowbotham. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties.

5. Lease for 99 years (19 March 1849): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Rowbotham. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

6. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (19 March 1849): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Rowbotham. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

7. Assignment of Leasehold (5 April 1889): the Executors of John Rowbotham (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to William Rowbotham and Edward William McBride (his Trustee). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

8. Mortgage of Leasehold (30 January 1890) to secure £220: William Rowbotham and Edward William McBride (his Trustee)—with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation—to Julia Anna Boden and others. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee and his Trustee.

AND by endorsement—Surrender of Mortgage (27 October 1893): Julia Anna Boden and others to William Rowbotham. The endorsement has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, Edward Boden, Arthur Ingram Robinson, and Edward William McBride.

9. Surrender of Leasehold (23 June 1902): William Rowbotham to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. It includes an plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and bears the seal of the Navigation.
