Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 23 June 1902 by the Trustees of Thomas Clegg deceased. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (Nos. 64 and 158) situate in Albert Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1850–1902):

1. Lease No. 64 for 99 years (5 April 1850): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Christian Schilling. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and John George Smyth.

2. Counterpart of Lease No. 64 for 99 years (5 April 1850): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Christian Schilling. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold No. 64 (6 January 1871): Messrs John Humble Rockett and Benjamin Hewitt (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Clegg. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Lease No. 158 for 76 years (9 August 1875): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Thomas Clegg. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Andrew Montagu, William Aldam, Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope, and George Lane Fox.

5. Counterpart of Lease No. 158 for 76 years (9 August 1875): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Thomas Clegg. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

6. Surrender of Leaseholds Nos. 64 and 158 (23 June 1902): the Trustees of Thomas Clegg deceased to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by John Clegg, Robert Blair, and Emma Naylor.
