Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 5 December 1902 by George Mapplebeck. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 28) situate between Barge Dock Side and South Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1837–1902):

1. Lease for 99 years (7 August 1837): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Bromley. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, Richard Fountayne Wilson, John Spencer Stanhope, and Sir John Lowther.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (7 August 1837): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Bromley. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (24 December 1872): Robert Bromley (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to George Mapplebeck. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Surrender of Leasehold (30 April 1886): George Mapplebeck to Andrew Montagu and others (Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation). The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

5. Lease for 99 years (1 May 1886): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Mapplebeck. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Marmaduke Storr Hodson, Andrew Montagu, William Aldam, Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope, and Francis Darwin.

6. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (1 May 1886): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Mapplebeck. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

7. Assignment of Leasehold (24 February 1896): Emma Buck (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to George Mapplebeck. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation.

8. Surrender of Leasehold (5 December 1902): George Mapplebeck to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and bears the seal of the Navigation.
