Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 18 December 1902 by Israel Jackson. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 33) situate between Barge Dock Side and Dock Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1868–1902):

1. Lease for 99 years (8 July 1868): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Israel Jackson. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, Andrew Montagu, and William Aldam.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (8 July 1868): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Israel Jackson. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Mortgage of Leasehold (16 March 1876): Israel Jackson (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Messrs Robert Bell Bromley and Charles Bromley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Transfer of Mortgage of Leasehold (24 September 1881): Messrs Robert Bell Bromley and Charles Bromley to Messrs Charles Bromley and Richard Haldenby. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Transfer of Mortgage of Leasehold (4 December 1896): Israel Jackson, and his Mortgagees—Charles Bromley and Richard Haldenby—(with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to the Halifax Permanent Benefit Building Society. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the aforementioned Building Society.

6. Surrender of Leases (18 December 1902): Israel Jackson to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.
