A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 14 January 1907 by Sarah Eliza Riley. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 110) situate in South Street and Quay Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:
Deeds (1857–1907):
1. Lease for 99 years (21 October 1857): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Pilkington. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, and Andrew Montagu.
2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (21 October 1857): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Pilkington. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.
3. Assignment of Leasehold (30 October 1867) subject to yearly rent of £6.0.10: John Pilkington (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Nathan Colbridge. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.
4. Mortgage of Leasehold (24 March 1884) to secure £1150: Elizabeth Colbridge to John Scutt. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties.
5. Assignment of Leasehold (23 February 1887): Elizabeth Colbridge (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Captain John Scutt. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.
6. Assignment of Leasehold (31 July 1896): Sarah Scutt (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Sarah Eliza Riley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation.
7. Surrender of Leasehold (14 January 1907): Sarah Eliza Riley to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed bears the seal of the Navigation.
