Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 30 April 1907 by Benjamin Kaye. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 20) situate between Barge Dock Side and Bridge Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1883–1907):

1. Lease for 99 years (5 May 1883): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Charles Denby. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: Andrew Montagu, William Aldam, Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope, and Francis Darwin.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (5 May 1883): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Charles Denby. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (28 December 1883): Charles Denby (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Michael Threadgold Hedley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Mortgage of Leasehold (30 November 1887) to secure £800: Messrs John Frederick Hedley, Anthony Sunderland, Hannah Grace Hedley and others to Messrs Benjamin Kaye and John Halstead. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.

5. Surrender of Leasehold (13 April 1907): Benjamin Kaye, Simeon Kaye, Uriah Kaye, Joe Kaye, John Frederick Hedley, and Anthony Sunderland to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed by the Leasees, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the Trustees of the Navigation.
