Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 20 January 1913 by Charles William Darley. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 139) situate between Barge Dock Side, South Street, and Dock Street in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1868–1913):

1. Lease for 99 years (9 July 1868): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Scutt. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the following representatives of the Navigation: John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, Andrew Montagu, and William Aldam.

2. Counterpart of Lease for 99 years (9 July 1868): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Scutt. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (6 May 1895): John Scutt (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Charles William Darley. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation.

4. Surrender of Leasehold (20 January 1913): Charles William Darley to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed by the aforementioned Leasee, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the Trustees of the Navigation.
