GLS No. 67: Surrender of Goole Lease Nos. 30 and 96

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 14 June 1919 by Richard Haldenby's Trustees. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (Nos. 30 and 96) situate in North Street and Vermuyden Terrace in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:
Deeds (1854–1919):
1. Lease No. 96 for 99 years (1 July 1854): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Pilkington. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Sir William Mordaunt Milner, John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, and William Mordaunt Edward Milner.
2. Counterpart of Lease No. 96 for 99 years (1 July 1854): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to John Pilkington. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.
3. Assignment of Leasehold No. 96 (15 April 1869): Richard Pilkington and John Gardiner, the Executors under the Will of the late John Pilkington (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to William Clark. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Executors, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson on behalf of the Navigation.
4. Lease No. 30 for 99 years (18 March 1890): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Gladstone Macturk and John Wilson. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Mr Macturk, and the following representatives of the Navigation: Andrew Montagu, William Aldam, Walter Thomas William Spencer Stanhope, and Francis Darwin.
5. Counterpart of Lease No. 30 for 99 years (18 March 1890): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to George Gladstone Macturk and John Wilson. It includes a plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasees.
6. Assignment of Leasehold No. 30 (2 September 1897): Messrs George Gladstone Macturk and John Wilson (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Richard Haldenby. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation.
7. Assignment of Leasehold No. 96 (28 May 1900): William Ramsey, Frances Ramsey, and Henry Blow (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Richard Haldenby. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation.
8. Assignment of Leaseholds Nos. 30 and 96 (14 June 1919): Messrs William Smith and William Bentley, Personal Representatives of the late Richard Haldenby, to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasees, and Samuel Barraclough on behalf of the Navigation. It also bears the seal of the Trustees of the Navigation.
