Description:

A package containing papers surrendered to the Aire and Calder Navigation on 25 September 1925 by the representatives of Ann Frances Norwood, deceased. The papers are connected with Leasehold premises (No. 116) situate in East Parade in the town of Goole, Yorkshire. The package includes the following:

Deeds (1862–1925):

1. Lease No. 116 for 99 years (14 January 1862): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Briggs. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee, and the following representatives of the Navigation: John Spencer Stanhope, John George Smyth, William Mordaunt Edward Milner, and Andrew Montagu.

2. Counterpart of Lease No. 116 for 99 years (14 January 1862): the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation to Robert Briggs. It includes an inset plan showing the land and property in question. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasee.

3. Assignment of Leasehold (27 March 1862): Robert Briggs (with the consent of the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation) to Thomas Norwood. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned parties, and Marmaduke Storr Hodson.

4. Surrender of Leasehold (25 September 1925): Tom Norwood Kelsey and Arthur Wellesley Kelsey, the Personal Representatives of the late Ann Frances Norwood, to the Trustees of the Aire and Calder Navigation. The Deed has been signed and sealed by the aforementioned Leasees, and bears the seal of the Trustess of the Navigation.
