The folder contains records of a seriesof meetings held between representatives of the ACN and the LYR held between 20 and 26 July 1855. The purpose of the meetings was to affect a financial settlement between the two companies and the determine whether the ACN was responsible for the maintenance of railway sidings on its land.
The folder contains the following:
1. A copy of a two letters – dated 23 and 27 June 1855 – reporting on the meetings held and their outcome.
2. A memorandum on a meeting held 20 June 1855 covering the topics of the Coal drop, the Railway Dock Wharf Wall, the South West Sheds, the Ship Dock Shed, the Cattle Enclosure, the Engine Shed, and Land at Goole.
3. A memorandum on a meeting held 21 June 1855 outlining the proposed financial settlement between the ACN and LYR.
The ACN was represented by J. H. Shaw, William Hamond Bartholomewm, Mr Aldam, and Mr Wilson. The LYR was represented by Mr Hawkshaw, Mr Leeman, and Mr Wickham.
