A bundle of correspondence between H. B. Emley (General Manager of the Aire and Calder Navigation, and Chairman of the Goole Emergency Committee) and officials at the Ministry of Transport. The subjects covered includes the following: the functions of the Emergency Committee, the co-ordination of inland transport with port working, a test diversion of shipping (May 1939), appointments to the Committee, and Port Food Movement Officers.
The bundle also includes the following memoranda:
