A seriesof shipping registers recording arrivals and departures from Alexandra Dock. Arrivals and departures from the Dock's River Pier for the period between 1939 and 1972 are also included [see C DPD/7/2/5–19]. The detail in the volumes is not just limited to information on the vessels using the Dock, but they also include recordings of tide levels in the Dock and weather observations.

There is a gap in the series between 1910 and 1924 for which no records are available.
