Official Log. July 13th 1895. Whilst proceeding to the fishing ground , we sighted the Swedish barque Vega of Simrishamm flying signals of distress with main & mizzen masts gone and lying on her beam ends with ballast shifted. We went and spoke to her and they asked to be taken off board. We immeadiately launched the boat and went to their rescue and succeeded in saving the crew of 14 hands.
