19/1/96 North sea. Name of person illtreated - H Pullen by F Wells. The steward was insolent to the 2nd hand who told him to desist, but instead of doing so rushed at the 2nd hand apparently with intention of striking him. Wells then struck the cook in self defence & a fight ensued.

H Pullen, the cook, in my opinion the cause of the disturbance referred to on page 11 owing to his defiant & insolent attitude towards the 2nd hand, and ultimately by by rushing at & striking or attempting to strike him has been fined 5/- under Regulation 3 for maintaining discipline as set forth on page 3 of this agreement, and the amount has this day been paid to the Superintendent of Mercantile Marine at Hull.
