Official Log. On 12th July 1902 I Sighted a Russian barque Norie in a sinking condition I got a boat out & manned by myself & my boatswain F Hulse we pulled to the Norie & took off 5 of her crew. The captain & 5 others were reported to have taken to their boats during the night & to have been drowned through their being swamped. The above rescue was effected at 10am whilst it was blowing strongly.
