Hull November 27th 1901. The late 2nd hand E G Garwood attended before me today bringing this agreement with him to show me the entry relative to the collision with the trawler St Bernard on 27th September last. On questioning him relative to such entry he admitted that it had only been made by the skipper today: that he himself left the vessel a fortnight or so ago & that the late skipper, Watts, who was at home ill asking him to obtain possession of the agreement on the vessels return to port and to take it to him, he did so, for the purpose of enabling him to make the entry referred to, on page 15.
