I have ascertained that the particulars in the report of the death of D McDonald are true, & have reported the matter to the Board of Trade.

Official Log.

Donald McDonald went on shore on the evening of the 31st January and did not return. His body was recovered on 9th February and at a coroners inquest subsequently held, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned. He was paid upto the 31/1/02 and had no money due him. The following is a list of his clothes found onboard, and delivered to the Superintendent of Mercantile Marine Office Dublin. 3 books, 3 blankets, 3 shirts, 3 jackets, 4 singlets, 2 pillows, 4 socks, 2 aprons, 1 quilt, 1 pr drawers, 4 vests, 4 caps, 1 comb, 1 frock, 2 trousers, 2 collars, 3 ties, 1 hair brush & 1 towel.
