December 19 30 minutes past 3 am , jibed main sail on main boom causing the mast to break which resulted in the loss of topmast, topsail, gaff , part of mainsail , part of running gear ,with blocks estimate damage 65 to 75 pounds. Wind west blowing fresh, place North Sea 30 miles east north east from Spurn. 4 O'clock am December 19th signalled to smack Apostle of Hull which came to our assistance taking us in tow 5 am and reached the Humber on the 20th December gave us a tug which which towed us to Hull. date of leaving port December 19th 8pm
