January 12 1885 11.30 am tail end of the Dogger Bank North Sea bearing SW 100 miles. both washed overboard by a heavy sea and drowned.

October 4th Lost Boat North Sea. Smack James & Maria sunk the boat. January 12 1885 Tail end of the Dogger Bank North sea. Lost our mizen boom and mainsail. Also gib boat, main topmast and gaff . Split our foresail and had part of bulwarks carried away. Shipped a heavy sea.
