December 10 1884 off the Dogger Bank in North Sea. W Knudtsen - Deck Hand. When returning to the vessel in the boat after having boarded the cutter with fish the boat was struck by a large wave and he was thrown into the water & drowned. Although every effort was made to save him. His brother the 2nd Hand was in the boat with him at the time.
