Alfred Foster 3rd Hand shipped on April 14th at a pound per week, reduced his wages to 15-/ shillings per week from May 6th. Caught him asleep on watch proved him to be quite useless was compelled to send him home for safety. On May 25th William Hussey came out by cutter to take place of Alfred Foster 3rd hand who went to Hull by next cutter on the 8th June. Alfred Foster caught asleep while on watch May 12th 1885 refusing to call the skipper by doing so lost the cutter with our fish. Tested him on the boat proved him to be of no use at all not even fit for deck chap.
