3/3/1907 North Sea. H Read boatswain. Boat capsizing, drowning.

I certify that on enquiry I am of opinion that the loss of H Read was in accordance with the report of the occurence as given on page 15.
Record of Casualty.
18/2/07 River Humber. Vessel grounded & was towed off about 9 & a half hours later without damage.
21/2/07 North Sea. Loss of 3 lifebuoys. Vessel shipped a heavy sea. 3/6/07 River Humber. No damage to the vessel.Vessel grounded but floated herself 8 hours later ( neglect of 2nd hand on watch )
18/3/07 North Sea, no damge to our vessel. Slight collision with the ST Nerissa of Hull, through the latter not giving himself room.
Official Log.
Sunday march 3rd I had my boat over the side & was going dead slow with my engines & was speaking with the Norwegian Schooner Castor of Mandal & on looking round I saw two hands had jumped into the boat & the boat was half way over I saw at once stopped my engines & looking again I saw the boat upside down & the two men on top of it meanwhile the Castor had lowered a lifeboat & were pulling towards our boat but just before they reached it one of the men slipped off & sank & did not rise again, but the other hand was picked up by the Castors boat & brought onboard without injury.
