21//6/08 off the coast of Portugal. R Crickmore boatswain. Both fore arms and face burned by fire in the hold. 21/6/08 J A Lock, 3rd hand, both hands burnt.
21/6/08 F Osborne, cook. Both fore arms and hands burnt. It is thought that the fire was caused through a match being dropped in the lamp locker. See below.
Record of Casualty.
21/6/08. It is supposed that the 4th hand after lighting the lights threw the burning match on the floor of the lamp locker which was soaked with paraffin. The 3 injured men were asleep in their berths at the time. Forehold woodwork slightly scorched.
