30/10/11 Aberdeen Infirmary. J C Bond, cook. Drug poisoning.

Official Log. 29/10/11 7am Aberdeen. At this hour & place, J C Bond, cook, after preparing breakfast turned to his bunk saying he felt very ill. He got worse & the vessel was run for Aberdeen and Bond taken to the local hospital, with his clothes. Upon returning to Aberdeen on the 23rd November I learnt that his clothes were in the possession of the Board of Trade he having died on the 30th October 1911. Having made enquiry into the circumstances concerning the death of J C Bond I am of the opininon that the statement of the cause of death as given in this official log book is true.
