North Sea January 16th . T Carbery cook was orderd by me to light the mast head light, he refused to do so & went down in the hold, at the same time refusing to do any more work on board the ship. I sent him to London by cutter Onward next day.
Record of Casualty. 2 July 1886 6pm North sea Spurn bearing W 280 miles. Carried away our bowsprit and smashed the stern. Smack Young Alfred of Hull came across our bow.
