Memoranda by Skipper.

April 27th 1885 smack Warwick came into collision with the smack Paragon of Hull while fishing near Horn Reef twenty minutes to eight during the second hands watch. Wind very light from SSE sea smooth, Paragon having his net down our smack over allowing for him put our tiller hard port to go clear of him. Having stopped owing to the wind being light and a strong weather tide going, our vessel drove into his starboard quarter barrel doing him no damage but damaging our vessels port bow, knocking down three stansons and spilling about fifteen foot of rail. Doing damage to bullworks and channel plate. I hereby certify that this happened in my watch.

Record of Casualty.
