December 15 1885. On the morning of the said dateabout 2 O' clock we were towing on the port tack a vessel came towing the opposite way and when we came under our bow came fast and before we could let go our stopper we drove across his stern with being dark we could not observe what vessel it was but we could see it was a Grimsby vessel and he broke our rail on the starboard side and other damage.
