4/3/1913 North Sea. H Gatman 1st engineer. Right side of face and right eye burned owing to an explosion of gas in the engine room.

4/3/13 North Sea W T Kingdom, trimmer. Left fore arm burned owing to an explosion of gas.

Official Log. I, the said skipper of Wales this day 5th March 1913 have been compelled to log the cook W Atkin for disobedience & waste of provisions & destroying cooking utensils.

Also G Hooper, step brother to Atkin for obscene language & using forecastle poker to strike me with while correcting the cook. Owing to the cooks (W Atkin) incompetency & disobedience he is only worth 10 shillings per week. Hooper was fined 5/- for assault.
