Official Log. On 3rd January 1913 the timmer G Martin, refused duty. This was reported to me by the chief engineer , C Burton. I went down below to tell him to turn to but he refused, at the same time using offensive language. Later on I again went down with the 2nd hand but he still refused, when I told him that I should log him he said that he would take the consequences. From this time until the end of the trip he did no further work.
