Fire said we are not going to shoot anymore until we get a full crew, the boatswain being ill through a rupture which he has had for some years. I asked who was the ringleader, Fire Hall & Stewart said we are all in the same mind, saying, we have been treat like dogs. I asked in what way, and they made various excuses, the weather being too bad. I said , well what is it to be are you going to get the gear ready or have I to take the ship home. They said they did not care they were not going to shoot the gear anymore, so I had to make sail spoiling what ought to have been a successful voyage.
