As our mast was carried away the smack Striver took us in tow until Wenesday the 8th and it came to blow and had to let go of us , lost us the same night and we had to anchor in 12 fathoms of water. Spoken to by the smack Gleaner and taken in tow on Friday 10th which towed us safe to port.
Record of Casualty. December 5th 1886 150 miles from Spurn. Carried foremast away.
