Record of Casualty.

North Sea March 11th 1888 . Run into smack name unknown. Neglect of the second hand who was on watch. Tuesday 13th 1888 11.45pm. Vessel grounded, but floated again about 45 minutes afterwards. Considerable damage to the vessels bottom. Cause, gale & heavy snowstorm. At 5am the following Wednesday morning we left the vessel in our boat owing to her making water rapidly, almost immeadiatley after abandoning her we sighted a tug which proved to be the Victor of Grimsby, coming to our assistance, we were then taken on board of her & after she had taken her own vessel in tow , she proceeded to Grimsby.
