Memoranda by Skipper.
On April 24 at 10am Sam Bridges the 3rd Hand refused duty & disobeyed my lawful commands by not assisting to heave the gear. When I told him to do so he went down below & remained there until about 7pm the same day when he again came on deck & refused work.
