Saturday December 10th 9.30am spoke to the SS Daenhill [?] of Newcastle flying a flag of distress I asked the captain if he wanted any assistance he asked me to come onboard I launched the boat and went on board. The Captain asked me to tow him in, which I did. Arrived at Grimsby on Sunday at 4pm December 11th 1887. Her engine had broken down & she was in a helpless condition.
