On the 4th August , I sent my 2nd hand D W Petherbridge to London by cutter, owing to illness, as the term of our voyage was drawing near to a close I did not send in for another to take his place as no one would have come out for so short a time. So I remained fishing until the 11th and then made sail for port. The vessel was therefore worked during that period without a 2nd hand.
