Record of Death or Injury. Benjamin Cooper. May 4th 1889 lower edge of dogger Bank. Third finger on right hand taken off by trawl warp.

Benjamin Cooper the skipper left the vessel at sea, owing to his injury & went direct to London by steam cutter Colonel smith on Sunday 5th May , and on arrival was admitted to Greenwich Hospital. We remained fishing with the Great Northern fleet until Wednesday following when we set sail for Hull arriving on Saturday the 11th of May. I the 2nd hand, James hames had charge of vessel from May 5th to her arrival in Port on May 11th.
