June 20th 1889 Horn Reef. H Sutcliffe 4th hand, fell from the mast and broke his collar bone.

Memoranda by Skipper.

Owing to the injury sustained by H Sutcliffe 4th Hand referred to on page 11 he was within an hour of the accident taken onboard the mission ship Queen Victoria . Acting on the advice given by the medical gentleman onboard that vessel , Sutcliff was left in his care until such time as he should be well enough to be sent to Hull by cutter. The time of our voyage having expired set sail for home on the same day & reached port on the 23rd . Hull 25th June 1889.
