Record of Illtreatment or Punishment.

15 May 1890 North Sea. Name of person illtreated - George Clegg cook, by William Matthew skipper. By throwing a ham bone at him & kicking him behind, also touched his face with the flat of a shovell but did not hurt him. For being insolent when I took him to task for cutting the lean out of a ham and leaving the fat. When he was insolent I lost my temper and assaulted him as stated above.

For the assault referred to on page 11 the master has thi day be fined the sum of 10/- under regulations 3 & 9 for maintaining discipline, which amount has been duly paid into this office this date 29 May1890.
